St. Mere Eglise - The town which is synonymous with the movie The Longest Day, learn the true story of how the American Paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne liberated the first town in the American sector on June 6 1944 and the key role the town was to play in the coming days.
La Fiere - A vital crossing point over the Merderet River, surrounded by flooded fields and the way west for American Forces. La Fiere is the scene of 4 days of bloody fighting for the American Airborne and Glider troops and is the site of the Iron Mike memorial erected to commemorate their efforts and sacrifice.
Brecourt Manor - One of the best known actions of D-day, immortalised in the HBO series Band of Brothers, see the hedgerows they fought for and how a small band of men overcame a German battery intent on stopping the landings on Utah Beach.
St Marie du Mont - A small village situated some 6km inland from Utah Beach and sits at the head of one of the vital causeways that needed to be cleared to allow movement inland for the troops of the American 4th Infantry Division. Angoville au Plain - Close to one of the designated drop zones of the 101st Airborne, a small Hamlet which will see to medics set up a hospital in the church as the battle raged around them. Throughout the fight they brought the wounded in and treated them as best they could, an extraordinary story of courage and determination.
Dead Mans Corner - An area of tough fighting for the men of the American Airborne as they tried to make their way into the town of Carentan down a route which they named Purple Heart Lane after the wound medal awarded to American service personnel.
Carentan - We will follow the route as closely as possible taken by the troops as they approached the town and began the fight for its liberation and sharing their stories and those of the liberated
